ADE festival report: Cocoon at the Powerzone

24 October 2010

During ADE 2010 betribes.com will write reports of the ADE festival, Raymond visited the Cocoon night at the Powerzone.

Crazyness, Ibiza, Bock zum Feiern, Gude Laune. Just some randomly picked words out of party animal Sven Vath’s vocabulary to describe what to expect when visiting a Cocoon night. Party till you drop! This night Vath is accompanied by household names like Extrawelt and Cassy. But Cocoon never denies local talent, so Johanna Mercker, the boys of Rauwkost and Oliver Weiter are added to this night’s quality line up. All the ingredients for a night to remember!

Once again the Powerzone was the providing venue for yet another Cocoon-experience. Cassy rocked the place with his highly danceable and enthusiastic choice of records and slick spinning techniques. Extrawelt (Arne Schaffhausen and Wayan Raabe),  with their ever first album released by Cocoon,  treated the crowd with a stunning live set leaving them spelled. Party icon Sven Vath, playing in the heart of this night’s line up,  showed his crowd pleasing class with an up tempo and very open set leaving the audience no choice but to dance their butts off.

Cocoon is a record label, party organization,  and (sort of) a lifestyle combined in one. Maybe not that popular in Holland compared to the rest of Europe, nonetheless Vath keeps attracting his fair amount of Dutch ‘Gude Laune’-supporters. For them this night was what they’ve hoped for: Crazyness!
