ADE festival report: Deepheat
22 October 2010During ADE 2010 betribes.com will write reports of the ADE festival, yesterday Robin visited Little Buddha at the Deepheat event.
Take a couple of Japanese, throw in a few Spaniards, a handful of Dutch and one German, put them in one of the most beautiful venues ADE has to offer and what do you get: a very special edition of Deepheat.
Deepheat has grown from a small Amsterdam based night to a big event making appearances around the country and for ADE they pulled out all the stops.
For everyone walking into Little Buddha for the first time, their eyes immediately gaze upon the not so little buddha next to the dance floor. Let your eyes wander further and you’ll see a beautifully decorated warm and spiritual place, perfect for the upcoming events planned during ADE.
The line up put together for Deepheat was impressive. A mix between unknown and known, deep and more mainstream, local and international. Studio Apartment and Hideo Kobayashi, two of Japans finest Deep House DJ’s were flown in as well as British heavyweights Copyright. Alongside Dutch brothers Greg and Roog van Bueren, HardSoul they gave the young crowd what they were asking for. A high paced and up tempo night.
Even with a great venue and great line up a night out can feel a bit disappointing. This night proved that in order to have an amazing night, the delicate balance between music, sound, atmosphere, lights and especially crowd, is hard to reach. For true househeads this balance is near sacred, much respected and desperately sought after.
Let’s hope that the coming nights in Little Buddha host a crowd that respects this balance a bit more.
