ADE festival report: Little Buddha and Melkweg

22 October 2010

During ADE 2010 betribes.com will write reports of the ADE festival, Bas and Cas visited Little Buddha and Melkweg.

The Amsterdam Dance Event is blowing off after the second day of conferences and it’s time for a fully loaded evening and night program. As we had seen on the first night, also on the Thursday night a huge amount of visitors was expected, a fact that brought us in a positive mood! For the visitors it was a search for the right party, something in we did succeed quite well. With a full agenda we went downtown Amsterdam.

At Amsterdam’s new hot spot ‘Little Buddha’ the evening started in a good way. Over there, the new booking agency ‘Extended Music’ was giving it’s party. If you we’re invited you were able to walk among others like Roog and Greg van Bueren, Dennis van der Geest and Carita La Nina. While enjoying a drink, the dj was spinning some nice house beats. At nine o clock we’re leaving for Flying Lotus in the Melkweg.

Flying Lotus is one of the most respected cross over producers in America. Again, he was able to fulfill or wildest dreams. Without any  effort he is switching from house to dubstep and from acid to hip hop. The Melkweg venue is really, really crowded and there wasn’t any available spot to find. While Flying Lotus is making the crowd crazy, colleagues as Busy P. are among the audience.

After Flying Lotus said goodbye for the fifth time, it’s finally over. While the venue is made empty and the stage is rebuild, SuperRauw is starting in the small hall. Joost van Bellen is opening with a very swinging disco set. Meanwhile Bart B More is opening his set main stage, warming up the incoming audience immediately.

Two hours later Boys Noize is appearing behind the decks. Suddenly the Melkweg is transformed into a total madhouse, a gigantic mess. Boys Noize is creating an enormous pit, a lot of jumping people and a lot of hands in the air. But everything comes to an end, so is the second night of the Amsterdam Dance Event. Luckily we have a number of days and nights to go.
