ADE Festival report: Bodymusic at Jimmy Woo
21 October 2010Where to start? Where to begin? To kick off four days of ADE with internationally renowned DJ’s in an internationally renowned venue, is more than a pleasure, it’s an honor. Top it off with a dose of Holland’s own finest and there is nothing more to wish for.

The basement of this well known club was fully packed when entering around the turn of day. Apparently Hardsoul had warmed the crowd up and now Bodymusic’s residents RiskSoundSystem were heating up the sound system for the men to come: DJ Spen and Karizma a.k.a. The Deepah Ones.
At around one o’clock the wait was over. From the moment they started the chemistry between the two was overwhelming. A chemistry between two craftsmen is a wonderful sight to the eyes and in this case a beautiful sound for the ears.
They started out blazing, focusing more on drums then on their famous vocal sets, they surprised the audience, but everybody loved it. I’ve written this before, but I will write it again: the difference between a good DJ and a great DJ is the difference between day & night, peace & happiness, love & hate.
It is as if you feel their energy pulsing through their fingertips onto the turntables, blasting through the speakers and finally come to rest inside your brain. Setting in motion the only body function you’ve got left: dance.
It was pure bliss. Classics after classics where thrown out into the audience at a relentless pace.
If the same pace is pushed throughout the remaining days of ADE, everybody is in for an unbelievable ride.
