In The Spotlight: Code 21

20 August 2010

This year the festival features a list of new locations. One of those new places with a festival program is Code 21 in the Reguliersdwarsstraat, just a stone’s throw away from the Leidsestraat – which connects the Kalverstraat with the Leidse Square. Anyway, the little café is a new location worth the visit.

The place recently switched owners and the new propiator thought it would be a nice idea to fit the café with a deejay booth and some turntables. And that thought probably came at the right time, because the café is more popular than ever. And unfortunately for TWSTd, but fortunately for Code 21 – 21 is its  house number – TWSTd closed its doors almost at the same moment Code decided to get turntables. Code 21 now even hosts the TWSTd dj contest.

The ADE program of Code 21 isn’t quite finished yet, but we can reveal a little secret. Carnivale will have its label launch party in Code 21 during ADE. Those guys are sitting on a small goldmine, filling Club Air to the max every other month. Behind the scenes the’ve been working on quite a stack of tracks, so a label is an obvious follow-up. Be sure to swing by!
