Boating during ADE
13 August 2010All right, so Amsterdam might be known as the Venice of The North – so are Copenhagen, Giethoorn, Manchester, Birmingham, St. Petersburg and many more (all less fun to visit though) – but boat parties aren’t considered business-as-usual around here. After all, it isn’t Miami with its white yachts, filled with scantily clad gals and crystal. Nope, it’s Amsterdam with red brick houses under overcast skies. Oh yeah, and a couple dozen house boats.
The unique atmosphere of Amsterdam and its historic setting is what makes those boat parties even more special. And during ADE 2010 there are at least three floating party locations. Locations that will not only float, but also make a little tour around Amsterdam. We already pointed out the Pure Liner which will feature a wide range of artists from all around the world.
Apart from the Pure Liner, there are at least two more ships that will offer a broad selection of artists: Boot 10 and Ocean Diva. The first one is the rough one. Remember last year’s report on how to spend 24 hours non-stop in Amsterdam? In DJBroadcast? With that boat party? Well, it’s that same boat. An old little ferry with a new coat of paint and a bar. And a soundsystem. About right enough to have loads of fun.
The Ocean Diva is well, a bit more the diva like of the floating parties. There’s way more room, it’s classier – almost lounge-like, but it is as much fun as the other locations. They are all unique in their own way, suiting different crowds. They’re all worth the visit. Not all of the line-ups are public yet, but they will be soon! And maybe, just maybe, another boat will be added to the list of locations. We'll keep you informed!
