It's not only about the small things: Minus

26 July 2010

During the festival there is loads of stuff to do - of course, you may say. From a small last-minute drink in an empty showroom or shop, to a huge party with over a thousand visitors, it’s all part of the deal, and they’re all good fun to visit. Each is special in its own way. Evotions is one of the organizations who will drop one of those big parties during ADE. Well, two actually, but let’s put one of them in the spotlight.

The weekender covers two parties. On Friday the twenty second it’s the Minus label that’s going to rock the Powerzone, the day after it is Cocoon’s take on the big club in one Amsterdam’s outskirts. But let’s concentrate on the first one for a bit. It’s the third time the label of nowadays Berlin based Richie Hawtin takes over the venue. The label has definitely made huge steps for minimal techno. It made the music known to public. The label even did a world tour, with loads of parties for thousands of people. And in October it is time to visit The Netherlands again, and as always it’s going to give acte de presence with an all star line up.

Who’s there? Well, first of all, what is a Minus party without head honcho Richie Hawtin? Just a party, so he’s there. And who else? Magda, Marc Houle, Gaiser, Click Box, Ambivalent and Fabrizio Maurizi. A good combination between the more well known names, and some of the lesser known. The things that they have in common are the fact that they’re part of the Minus crew, and that they know the ways to rock a crowd.
