2010: Fifteen years of ADE

13 July 2010

This year will bring the fifteenth edition of the annual Amsterdam Dance Event. The event will take place in Felix Meritis and the beautiful hotel Dylan, in the middle of the city centre of Amsterdam: a labyrinth of canals, beautiful green trees, fancy restaurants and of course clubs. This year the event will be even bigger than in recent years, with more than 40 clubs partcicipating. Attracting visitors from all over the globe, ADE is one of the most important dance conferences around. Oh, and let's not forget about the festival which will take place in over 40 clubs around town.

After fourteen successful  editions it will be no surprise that number fifteen is on its way. Last year’s topics included mobile apps, digital promotion, digital platforms, a behind the scenes view and of course ADE next. The latter being an ideal platform for young artists and professionals to get an inside look at rights, promotion and professional support. There’s the infamous Demolition panel, where professional dj’s and artists will listen to a stack of demo’s. And won’t keep their opinion to themselves.

The current scene in Brazil is one of this year’s topics. Next to that Roger Sanchez will elaborate on his view of the international dancescene and public relations and disintegrating genres will be discussed. And on the same note: the current tribes which youngsters will join will be put in the spotlight. Confirmed speakers at this date are Miles Leonard, Tom Tom Club, Sasha and Pedro Winter aka Busy P, who you may know from the Ed Banger label.

Of course this is just the start of the list of speakers, topics and debates. Check the front page and the blog regularly to stay informed on news, updates and confirmed speakers. In the months leading up to ADE 2010, artists, speakers and hang-out spots in Amsterdam will be introduced.

Next to this we will introduce you to a wide range of clubs with their programmes during the festival.
